Staff Spotlight: David Stroud
This week, our Staff Spotlight is shining on Mr. David Stroud, math teacher at Fox Meadow School of Creative Media!
David began his journey with Nettleton as a long-term substitute before stepping into the classroom full-time. This year marks his second full year teaching math in our district, and he is already making a tremendous impact. Recently, he was honored as the KAIT8 Teacher of the Month — an award that holds special meaning for him.
David shared that the recognition means quite a bit because teachers have played a very important role in his life. Receiving this award is an affirmation that he is on the right path to doing the same for others.
When asked what he loves most about his job, David said,
“The ability to share mathematics with the kids that I teach. I truly love the subject that I teach, and I live for the moment of realization on kids' faces when they understand something new.”
And when asked what #RaiderPride means to him, he shared:
“It's the way that someone holds themselves when they are confident to face what they need to because they are prepared. It is the self-confidence of someone who knows that they are doing what they know is right. It's the knowledge that we can do hard things and rise to the challenges that the modern world presents us with. Most of all though, it's the daily affirmation we do at Fox Meadow — students knowing that they are somebody, that they were somebody when they came here and they will be a better somebody when they leave.”
We are so proud of you, Mr. Stroud, and grateful to have you as part of the Nettleton family. Thank you for inspiring our students every single day!
